Always a warm welcome.

Welcome

Nestling in a quiet corner near to the harbour in the tranquil coastal village of St. Abbs, Springbank Cottage offers the ideal opportunity to relax and unwind. Formerly a fisherman's dwelling this early nineteenth century cottage has been converted into a comfortable and cosy three star B & B with an adjoining open-air Tea Garden.

For the active there are many lovely walks in the immediate vicinity and in the hills close by. There are opportunities for sea, loch and river fishing and boat trips can be taken from the harbour.

The sea around St. Abbs with its crystal clear water is a well-known scuba diving area. The adjacent headland with its towering cliffs is a noted National Trust Nature Reserve boasting a wide variety of bird life. The glorious sandy beach at Coldingham Bay now established as a popular surfing location lies five minutes walk along the cliffs.

Beyond the nearby fishing port of Eyemouth and just twelve miles away lies the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. St. Abbs is within an hours drive of Edinburgh and many Border towns with their mill shops. Lindesfarne castle and ancient priory on the Holy Isle, the Farne Islands and the Cheviot Hills can also be reached easily.

For the less active you can relax in the Tea Garden or wander round the harbour observing the cormorants, the waves crashing on the rocks, the fishermen mending their nets and you might even catch the sight of the occasional seal or dolphin.
